Founded in 1884 by brothers António and Francisco, Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges quickly became one of Portugal's leading winemakers, through a melding of tradition, age-old knowledge, commitment to the land and a passion for wine. 

Borges understands the need to master the entire production process, which is why they own four of Portugal’s leading estates in the main demarcated regions: Quinta de Simaens and Quinta do Ôro in the Vinho Verde Region; Quinta da Soalheira in the Douro Region and Quinta de São Simão da Aguieira in the Dão Region. The individual identities of their vineyards underpin the character and authenticity of their wines.
